On the site of the Populierhof residential care centre in Nieuwkerken, the Sint-Niklaas public welfare centre wanted to create an attractive place to live for the elderly and those in need of care.

On the basis of an interactive walk and workshops, input was gathered to explore various scenarios. In this way, socio-spatial research was used in dialogue with local stakeholders to arrive at a shared understanding of this project.
